Our Keyworker system: We operate a system where children are ‘assigned’ to a specific member of staff, enabling the child to form a closer bond with one person. The keyworker is responsible for ensuring your child’s needs are met, by liaising with you, carrying out observations and planning appropriate activities. You are welcome to discuss your child’s progress, look at their learning book, or voice any concerns with your keyworker at a mutually convenient time. You will also have the opportunity to meet with your child's keyworker throughout the time that your child is here. We use a system called 'The Learning Book' here at Aldergate pre-school, each child will have a unique log in and password- you can see all of the observations in which your child's keyworker has done on your child; you will be set up on this system when your child starts with us, you can access this at home via the internet.
Collecting your Child: We ask that you always sign your child in and out of the group on the register. Should anyone other than parents or adults known to the staff collect your child, please inform your keyworker or the group manager and record it in the signing in book/register. Only named people will be allowed to collect your child and they must fill in a security card, they should also know the child’s password and be 16 years or older. This information will be set up during your induction.
Please do not be offended if we ask you security questions, it is only done with your child’s safety in mind.
